For Teachers
School Visits
I love author visits with young readers—and planning visits with teachers so that my time in the classroom helps everyone achieve their learning goals! Single-class visits, multiple-class visits, and multiday residencies are all possible. I am also delighted to speak with parents, teachers, and families.
All of my programs are customized for the ages and needs of the students, and they are tailored to align with Common Core and Next Generation Science standards and the National Core Arts Standards.
You can learn more about my in-person school visits at Creative Ground, at the Connecticut Office of the Arts, and at Arts for Learning/CT.
Virtual Visits
I offer virtual visits via Zoom, Skype, or Google Meet. Each 45- to 60-minute presentation is designed for single classrooms of up to 35 students, and the timing can be adjusted to fit class schedules. I work from the Eastern Standard time zone.
My virtual presentations are best suited for students in Grade 2 through 5; in most cases, I can include all elements of in-person visits. For older students, my visits assist students in writing projects across the curriculum, particularly science and social studies units.
Details about virtual visits are available in my programs guide. Fees are available upon request.

Six Principles of Nonviolence
In association with the Connecticut Office of the Arts (COA) and the Connecticut Center for Nonviolence (CTCN), Doe uses arts-focused strategies to embed the Six Principles of Nonviolence into the climate and culture of the schools, libraries, and communities in which she works. When working with schools and libraries, Doe can integrate this model for social change into her arts-in-education programming, in the tradition of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., using curriculum co-authored by legendary civil rights leader, Dr. Bernard LaFayette, Jr.
For more about the partnership between the COA and CTCN, visit the Connecticut Center for Nonviolence.
